Slim's path

the tools that slim had to work with more or less didnt help him, but he did make use of the hundreds of turrets in each of his legs by carefully aiming each individual turret at a specific angle and letting loose a barrage of cave makers that seemingly did the job just right. he was able to make a few land bridges in the process. with the help of the one soul that hadnt developed by the time the other two groups left, he was able to make some decent enough walls from the rubble. after shooting a barb in the the middle of the souls being before it started to form, he waited until its transformation was complete. the new soul had decidedly became something similiar to slim, but changed its orientation just al ittle bit. it had a mouth, two different bodies, which were two halves of a whole. the top half floated with the help of some gas bags that had grown onto his should which were string enough to lift both himself and anything he might be carrying at the time. the lower half had a cradle in which the top half could rest in when he wanted to, but could also be used to carry varied amount of weights. the four legs that supported the bottom half were extremely strong and had pistons spiking out every once in a while to release any built up steam that the legs mightve built up. 'i see that you have finaly awoken from your long slumber, and i assure you that your new body is no stranger then mine or my comrades which have departed on there own seperate journeys to make the stogh more safe and independent. my name is slim, and i have been charged with the building of houses that are both stable and safe. of what name can you call yourself?' the creatures top and bottom halves spoke in turns. "um... my name is-" "not what i would call-" "normal, but i do believe-" "that on rare occasion-" "it could be called normal-" "my name is double-" "or maybe you could help us try to figure-" "it out?" slim was confident that he would have no trouble following with the new soul said if it simply stayed together all the time. 'i think i will advisably give the top half of your duo the respectable name of grip,' slim noted the way the top half seemed to love the name. 'and i think the most reliable name to give you, the lower half would be carrey. grip and carrey? i do beleive we have made each others time spent here, a little bit more pleasurable.' slim had been working with grip and carrey all week to complete the improvements on the stability of the houses and had stopped to take a break while his body regenerated his stock of ammunition. 'yes i do beleive that making tunnels is not the way squigs or ceros would have wanted us to do. but, it mightve been easier had squigs done it in the first place, i wonder how hes doing?' slim thought to grip and carrey as the two of them worked together while grip was trying to hammer a nail into solid stone. "grip-" "yes?" "could you please-" "float for a little while while you rest?" "yes, exactly what i was about to-" "say?" "sometimes i really hate-" "the fact that were tow halves of the same soul? yeah, me too." carrey said nothing while the load on her back lightened considerably. "thank-" "you. yes i know, lets just get the job done-" "as well as we can." she sighed as she sat down next to slim, who, because of his long and dangly four legs had no other choice but to crouch. 'was it just me, or did i hear a giant explosion to the east of our current location?' slim said aloud as he looked up to see the vast oceans and hundreds of broken contenents, each in there own way special, each in there own way full of unknown dangers. carrey looked up as well, noting that there were three to six different castles at various points on one contenent, while a giant lake that was pink and blue with bubbles erupting every once in a while. "it mightve just been your imagination. i think aside from you, ceros, squigs, me and grip over there. were alone on this place. where ever here is." she sighed inwardly. 'i dont think that were alone in this place, tis just that there might be so few of us actually living in this magnificent planet, that we have yet to actually meet anyone else here. but dont lose hope, as soon as we get everything straightened out, then i think every one will eventualy start to appear.' the creature sighed loudly, looking around at all the work they had done, and wondered how his friends were doing. suddenly, with out warning, a rockslide came crashing down onto the area and slim had just seconds to get grip and carrey to saftey before anything happened to them. there were big rocks and boulders, and little pebbles that bounced onto the glass like ground, causing chips and cracks where ever they hit. slim didnt even notice that all the rocks and pebbles were coming from the sky and he didnt even notice that those rocks that had fallen over the edges of the cliff simply floated after falling underneath the top of the bottom most mountain. 'crap, i wonder how ceros is doing with that sky flarn.' he said to no one in particular, looking back to see all the hard work that the three had done for the week had been ruined. The ground lurched beneath them once. Slim ran to gather up Grip and Carrey as the ground began to slowly fall out from beneath them. 'What did she do!? I just wanted to make stable housing!' Slim said as Carrey cradled Grip and the two became one. "Names Gary!" 'NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR THAT!' Slim shouted in anger and sudden fright as the ground fell away from them. Gary went back to being Grip and Carrey again as the three fell away from each other. Slim wasn't built for flying, but apparently his legs were long enough at act as propellers and slowly begian to spin on him. 'This isn't a good thing at all.' he though to himself as Grip fell to the west of him and Carrey almost to the east if he had not thought to grab a hold of her at the last minute. "THANK YOU! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THANK YOU!". Grip was too far away for anyone to help him, his ability to float wasn't of any help to him as he simply flailed around as the wind flipped him this way and that. Slim and Carrey looked in horror as grip tried to right himself, only to be struck by a large peice of slate that had cracked off the tip of their once proud home. It was almost too much for the two to digest as Grips lifeless body shrank faster and faster still with the weight of the mountain tip. Slim could see the look of terror in his now cold, dead eyes. 'This... This is too much... Hopefully we survive this tragic incident.' Carrey looked at slim with a renewed sense of hope. Her large and muscular legs wraping around his body as they two continued to fall. They had been falling through the sunny orange sky for what seemed like hours to Slim, he looked down to see that Carrey had fallen asleep. Her eye turning a pale blue color as she inhaled, then turning green to red when she exhaled. He looked around at the blue clouds that occasionaly passed them by and noticed that at the edges of each cloud, they were lines of black and silver. Almost as if they were alive and full of people. He suddenly shook that thought from his head as he saw two of the blue clouds collide and explode with tremendous force. The resulting shockwaves were enough to the point where it seperated a panicking Slim, and a sleeping Carrey, and sent them rocketing in two different directions. 'CARREY!'
